Marcello Di Nisio is currently Associate Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, University "G. D'Annunzio", Chieti, Italy.
Dr. Di Nisio obtained his medical degree in 1994, the Italian PhD in March 2006 and an International PhD at the University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands in June 2007.
Dr. Di Nisio has co-authored the guidelines on the treatment of venous thromboembolism in cancer patients for the Italian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the Italian Society of Clinical Oncology, and worked as main author for the Italian Society of Thrombosis and Haemostasis guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of the disseminated intravascular coagulation. He has served as panel member for the American Society of Haematology Clinical Practice Guideline entitled "Prevention and Treatment of VTE in Patients with Cancer" and for the European Society of Medical Oncology guideline entitled “Management of Venous Thromboembolism in cancer patients”.
Since 2017, Dr Di Nisio has been on the editorial board of Atherosclerosis and Thrombosis & Haemostasis: Research. He has also served as a reviewer for the Lancet, Lancet Haematology, Lancet Oncology, Annals of Internal Medicine, Journal of Thrombosis and Haemostasis, Thrombosis and Haemostasis, European Heart Journal, British Journal of Cancer, Nature Clinical Practice Oncology and Internal and Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Di Nisio has been Principal Investigator in Phase II, III, and IV clinical trials and has published over 140 articles in peer-reviewed journals.
